Official Tamaskan Organizations

Clubs, Registries, Organizations, & Support for the breed

Registries, Clubs & Organizations

The Tamaskan Dog breed and community is relatively close nit considering it is a rare breed that is still in development. We will be linking to breed standards, history and other additional resources, but in the meantime we are very happy to be able to provide a list of official organizations that are tied to the breed. These orgs are clubs, registries, rescues, research, and support organizations that are accepted int he community. Some will work together, some will operate completely independently, but they are all here to support and better the breed on a whole and are resource that can be trusted to provide current information on the breed.

Being listed here is not a testament to ethics affiliation, etc. Tamaskans Against Puppy Mills remains an independent site that is not managed by any of these organizations and therefor content is not manipulated, altered, or influenced by the individual politics and operations of any outside organizations.

Official Tamaskan Organizations

These are the clubs, registries, and other applicable organizations that are mutually recognized and work together to better and preserve the Tamaskan Dog breed. If they are not listed here they are not working in tandem with the breed on a whole. These organizations are listed in founding order. This does not affect or represent their standing, validity or any other gauge within the community.

Tamaskan Dog Register (TDR), 2006

One of the official registries for all Tamaskan, worldwide. The register was established by a number of enthusiastic breeders in 2006 with the aim of promoting and enhancing the breed. The aims of the register are promoting and raising awareness of the breed, raising the profile of the breed, maintaining breed standards, being a source of information and advice about the breed, as well as holding records, health and DNA information for all registered dogs.

The TDR strives to uphold best practices for the breeding of authentic Tamaskan Dogs worldwide. All TDR registered breeders are required to register their kennel and then to annually renew their breeding contract, which requires adherence to the published Breeding Regulations and the Code of Ethics.

Tamaskan Rescue

The Tamaskan Rescue, a small non-profit set with the goal to assess in rescuing and rehoming Tamaskan Dogs internationally, has been added as a sub committee to the Tamaskan Dog Register. While originally a non-profit in its own right (founded before 2013), due to the lack of volunteers, resources, and reach as a singular organization, has chosen to join efforts with this established club in order to continue to operate with its original goals, intent, and continue to support the breed it loves. This change will allow for cleaner operations, improvements, the ability to accept donations, better assist breeders and the community as a whole, and make it easier in turn for the community to safeguard the dogs we have all come together to care for and love.

The breeders listed on the NTC site are affiliated with the NTC. They adhere to the breeding regulations drawn up by the NTC and are allowed to display the NTC logo on their website.
